Full day at the babies orphanage

Today the disabled orphanage was closed so I decided to do a full day at the baby orphanage. Me and Jess caught the bus there together which is so pretty along the way. We got there and the toddlers had been let out so we ended up playing with them for the 1st half of the day. We gave them tea out of there bottles and then some of them went to go get fed. One of our co ordinators showed up the nappies that I forgot to bring the morning so Jess stayed with the toddlers and I went to the babies. Because it was only me I had to change all the babies nappies. When the volunteers don't come they don't get proper nappies so they have to use like dish clothes which don't really absorb anything. I changed so many nappies that I think I'm Sussed now for when I have a baby. After changing all the nappies we gave all the babies milk and the sisters helped out as well. Gradually more and more babies are getting fevers so a lot of them are sick and have diarrhea. After feeding them we put them all I there cots and most of them fell asleep. Usually at this time the volunteers would then leave while the babies sleep but because I decided I wanted to stay the whole day I sat with one of the babies on my chest while the rest sleep. The baby was not in the mood to sleep and every time I stopped a walking around the room or went to sit down he would cry. I spent the next hour and half walking around the room trying to get him to fall asleep. I eventually did and then quickly went out side to have lunch. I forgot to bring lunch in the morning and my co ordinator knew I had no lunch so she gave me hers her mother had made and packed for her, it was sooo lovely! It was noodles and they were amazing! I haven't had noodles in a Lonng time. When the babies all woke up around an hour later we put out he big Matt and out all the babies on the floor so they would sit with each other. There so cute when they all lie on the floor together wiggling around. About a hour later 2 volunteers came so I had some more Hands to help. They didnt wanna touch the nappies so because I had already been milk puked on twice and got poo on top I said I would change the nappies again. At 3:30 we left just in time as the doctor arrived to have a look at all the babies. When we got home we all got ready to go to slightly chilled which is bar but a lot of the group had to go to Colombo today to get there visas extended and didn't arrive until, ate so we never ended up going. We had dinner and out meeting and people talked with damikke ago what they are doing next week. Most volunteers are heading down to the beach to volunteer so the house will empty out quite a bit. It's sad because most of my friends are leaving but it's also good because there will be less people here doing each programme. I really want to go to the beach but I keep needing to remember that I'm going to be at plenty of beaches I'm Thailand so I'm here to volunteer! All of us talked about our trip this weekend to sigirya and played cards all night
