Sigiriya day trip with the gang

Today we went to sigiriya abouta 2 and a half hour drive from Kandy. The driver picked us up at 6am so we could get there early in the morning so we weren't climbing in the heat. We got there in the morning at 8:45 and brought our ticket. It cost us 3900 rupee which is 40 NZ which was in expensive but we had driven all the way there that I wasn't going to not climb it. The view of the rock from the bottom was amazing! We started the walk and realized it was all stairs. The distance wasn't far but there were so many stairs and there were heaps of Asians that we had to walk slowly behind. We stopped along the way and took lots of photos. The stairs were tiny and we were literally on the edge of the rock all the way up. Once we made it to the top the view was absolutely amazing! We had a 360 view all around which was just forest and big Buddhas sticking up everywhere. We spent the next hour exploring the top of sigiriya. We found a cave that was on a cliff race and was really windy. Once we got into the cave it was sheltered and we had an amazing view. On our way down we went down another way and walked through some really cute pathways. The top of the cliff reminded me of what you would see on Manchu peechu. When we got down we drove to to danbulla to get lunch. We read a sign that said there was western food so we went to the resteraunt but it ended up only being curry and rice. We had lunch and then drove home. Me and Eric were in the front with the driver and I had to sit I'm the middle seat which was so uncomfortably and hot. By the time we got back I felt so car sick. Everyone decided to go to the pools afterwards but I stayed behind because I want to spend the whole day there tomorrow while everyone leaves to go to beach for the week. It's going to be weird everyone going there's only going to be a few of us left:( I'm so over the meals we are getting for dinner it's always curry and rice. I'm craving some yum fresh salads and fresh meals
